Shadow theater / Storytelling




Making improvised shadow theater figures from recyclable materials and storytelling by the children themselves; learning through experiential education and cultivating spontaneous expression through creativity, collaboration and improvisation.
Learning the skill of storytelling. Structure, character sketches, plot twists and characteristics of the protagonists.
Developing skills on how to realize ideas and create images.
The workshop lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes
First part (45 minutes): Choice of a theme from the ancient mythology of Crete. Guidance for the construction of the shadow figures. Information and training for the realization of the performance (teaching storytelling techniques and how to manipulate shadow theater figures)
Second part (45 minutes): Each group presents its performance.
In the end, the children can keep the shadow figures they created.
